Reverend Dr. Stafford J.N. Wicker
Rev. Dr. Stafford J.N. Wicker is the 137th Bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. He is a leader dedicated to social justice, economic empowerment, and church growth.
Beginning his pastoral ministry in 1982, Bishop Wicker has overseen significant membership growth, debt liquidation, and facility expansion, including founding the Antioch Community Development Corporation. He has served the 18th, 8th, and now the 3rd Episcopal Districts, achieving transformative milestones.
The 8c’s for Transforming Your Ministry is the first in a leadership series of tried and true practices that Bishop Wicker has developed and successfully implemented over his nearly 50 years in ministry.
In The 8C’s for Transforming Your Ministry, the author offers a visionary, purpose-driven model to empower churches for sustainable spiritual, financial, and community transformation. Rooted in The Christ and expanded through seven additional pillars—The Church, The Community, The Character, The Credibility, The Credit, The Capital, and The Collateral—the 8C’s framework provides practical strategies to reignite the church’s mission and maximize its impact.
Drawing on years of ministry leadership, this book demonstrates how to revitalize underutilized resources, strengthen financial stewardship, and reimagine the church’s role as a “Repairer of Broken Walls” (Isaiah 58:12) within local and global communities.
Each chapter offers reflective questions and actionable steps, equipping pastors, leaders, and congregants to live boldly, rebuild credibility, and embody Christ’s transformative love.
More than a guide, this book is a call to action: refocus on Christ, reimagine ministry, and renew the church as a beacon of hope, service, and change in the world. Perfect for church leaders seeking to inspire revival and long-term growth, The 8C’s for Transforming Your Ministry provides the tools to turn vision into reality and align every action with God’s mission.
